Mingcong Pan

I am an applied economist and political scientist who works on the intersection of political economy, development economics, and comparative politics. Especially, I am interested in the formation of identity and cultural beliefs and their impacts on economic and political development. I am currently a joint PhD student in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics and the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in development economics and comparative politics, with a secondary field in political methodology.

Prior to coming to the University of Wisconsin, I received an MSc in economics from the London School of Economics, and a BA in economics and finance from the University of Hong Kong.
