Mingcong Pan

Welcome to my website.

I am a joint PhD student in political science and applied economics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

A political economist and comparativist, I am interested in the theories of decision making (both traditional microeconomic theory and the theories incline to behavioral economics with a root in psychology) and empirical methods of causal inference (both econometrics/statistics for observational data, and experiments), and applying them to the study of economic and political behaviors. The topics that interest me span from economic development and inequality on the one end, to identity, ideology, culture, and nationalism on the other end.

My name is pronounced as "ming-tsong," and you can reach me at mingcong.pan@wisc.edu.
